We're excited to announce we're part of the sponsorship team for the 2020 National Beard and Moustache Championships!
This will be a little different than most online competitions, and definitely different than all previous live, in-person National Championships.
Each competitor will submit a video clip as their entry to the competition.
These clips will be distributed amongst the judges for viewing. After the judges have made their decisions, we will compile all entries into a concise viewing format, culminating with the results. Similar to the World Series of Poker, but infinitely more suspenseful.
It will be one of our top priorities to give each competitor screen time, much like how at an in-person comp every competitor gets time on stage.
We will announce a date and time for the release of the event where we can watch it “live” and learn who the winners are, together. After this initial viewing, we will move the feature to a platform which will enable casual viewing by anyone at any time.

The Gentlemen's Social Club of Los Angeles cordially invites you to participate in our first, and hopefully only, beard and moustache online competition via ZOOM to be broadcast over Facebook Live and YouTube; The We Are The World Online Beard Competition.
Under normal circumstances our annual competition, BEARD BATTLE: LA, is held late summer in Los Angeles, but due to the worldwide outbreak of coronavirus, we've decided to hold our competition virtually on Saturday, May 23rd. We believe the money raised is desperately needed now, not 5 months from now.
Funds raised will go in part to our long term charitable cause, the LA FOOD BANK. Donations to the food bank and their volunteer force have dramatically plunged, as well as the food bank is experiencing a significant rise in those looking for food because so many have lost their jobs due to this crisis. For every dollar donated, the LA FOOD BANK can donate 4 meals to those in need.
The remaining half of the proceeds will go to DIRECT RELIEF. An organization that delivers masks, along with gloves and isolation gowns, and other protective gear to healthcare organizations across the country and around the world.
We decided to call it the We Are The World Online Beard Competition because anyone from around the world is able to "attend" and compete.
It will have many of the same features as an in-person competition. There will be judges, a dj, raffles, and trophies.
However, it is obviously a BYOB competition LOL And no one will know you aren't wearing pants if you choose not to! Not that some of you don't proudly parade around pantsless at a regular competition LOL
So please join GSCLA and the world on Saturday, May 23rd at 10am Pacific Time for some virtual facial hair shenanigans, but also to raise money to help out these two wonderful organizations during this global crisis.
How it will work:
Each category will be held at a specific time. You will join the "meeting" 5 mins prior to your categories' specific call time.
As an example, Natural Mustaches will be held from 11am to 11:30am. If you have a natural mustache, you will join the meeting at 10:55am. You will be held in the cue until it is your turn to be presented to the judges. Our ZOOM moderator will then pull you into the meeting for the judges to see you. You will then be put back in the cue to allow for another contestant to be seen by the judges.
But PLEASE DO NOT LOG OFF after the judges have seen you as an individual contestant. After all contestants have had time with the judges, our ZOOM moderator will pull ALL CONTESTANTS back into the meeting for the judges to have one final look before submitting their scores to the score keeper.
Awards will be given at the end of each category. BEAST IN SHOW will be named after the very last category.

1:15 - 2:00pm: HALF-TIME
2:00pm: INTRO 2nd HALF
2:15pm: FULL BEARD UNDER 8"
2:45pm: FULL BEARD OVER 8"
3:15pm: FULL BEARD STYLED STACHE
3:45pm: WHISKERINA CREATIVE
4:15pm: PARTIAL BEARD FREESTYLE
4:45pm: FULL BEARD FREESTYLE
5:15-5:30pm: BREAK
5pm: BEAST IN SHOW
*PLEASE NOTE: Category times subject to change depending on interest. Plenty of notification prior to competition date will be given.
FOR TICKETS:
$5 for the kids beard category
$10 all other categories
For a SONG REQUEST for your time with the judges, please add an additional $3 (for ex. kids category plus song request is $8; all other categories plus song reuqest is $13)
Can compete in more than one category but must buy a ticket for each category.

Welcome to the BEARD BATTLE: LA
The Gentlemen's Social Club of Los Angeles brings their 4th annual beard and mustache competition presented by Skullys Beard Oil benefiting the LA FOOD BANK.
You're going to see an array of facial hair types so click your seat belts and hold tight. Our theme for 2019 is "The 90's".
If you like mustaches...we got'em.
If you like big beards....we got'em.
If you like LAdies with creative homemade facial hair...we got them too!
